The Moxie takes on eBay

my friends Dan and Nicole Chilton are opening an art-house and indie theater in Springfield, MO. a brave exercise, to be sure. he’s got a great business plan, a great location, great supporters, and lots of moxie#–so much so that he’s name the theatre the Moxie Cinema.

so Dan gets hit with an additional building requirement that added about $30,000 to his initial cost for opening. any normal person would blanch at the prospect and fold his cards#–but not Dan and Nicole. oh no. not them. they reworked the budget and brought the needed funds to a much smaller amount. and then started brain storming ways to raise additional capital. to raise the money, they pull one of the smoothest moves i’ve seen in a while.

eBay the Cinebar! what does this mean? it means the Moxie will eBay auction the rights to name their concession area. that’s right. if i have the highest bid, the Moxie will have the "Nicholas J. Coleman High-Five Rootin’ Tootin’ Food Bar". what will it be if you win?

for the whole story, go here: http://blog.moxiecinema.com/ and check it out. i might just take out a loan and go for it. i think that the "Please Give Money to Nicholas J. Coleman Cinebar" would make a handsome addition to the theater…
