handicap

so i’ve been playing a lot of golf. why, you ask? because i’m waiting to hear back on some auditions and i’m stuck on a plot point in "Ozark Mile". i’m combining two characters, and while it seemed a like a good idea initially, now i’m struggling with the ramifications down the line (about page 65). anyone that’s read the script will flip when they see the changes i’ve made, and hopefully it falls in line with the original intent of the story. i’ve discovered that i’m a better rewriter than i am a writer. maybe that’s a good thing.

i’m heading to springfield again on Saturday to see Kyle Dean Massey in 42nd Street. hopefully Dan won’t blow me off this time so i can give him this New Yorker article i saved for him…

Golf handicap: 36. that’s a totally made up number that approximates my skill. i’m not that great. but then again, i didn’t take lessons (Michelle#–even Larey beat you).

Hi Nitcholas! My name is Lynsey not Larey. Hello, you’ve known this since I was born! I’m just your sister, duh. Just playing. Anywho, now I can check in on your life more often considering I hardly get to talk to you these days! Love you brother!
~Lynsey Ruth~

While we’re on the name thing, it’s Michele with one “l.” Anyway, I’m probably coming to 42nd Street, either with your sister (the blonde one) or one of my other friends. So I guess I’ll see you there! Oh, and Casey beat you, so take that into consideration before you start bragging about your golfing talent.

Hey, Casey secretly took lessons from a blind golf sage by the name of Shmagoola Minsky#–so I’m not embarassed about getting beat by her. She uses the Force or something…

The fact that you came up with a super-cool name like “Shmagoola Minsky” off the top of your head is pretty impressive. Unless you didn’t make it up, in which case I probably missed some kind of subreference.

When are you heading back down? This weekend? Last weekend? I’m confused.

BTW, if you need an additional pair of eyes to read your script, I have 6 or 7 pairs sitting around in my office. They’re all in jars, mind you.
