See Ya Later Alligator…
I’m heading out of town on Sunday for about ten days… should I tell you where?
I lucked out and am tagging along on a family vacation to Scotland with my girlfriend’s family. We’re going to Edinburgh and I’m so excited to get out of the US for a teensy bit. I need to recharge my Extreme Nationalism batteries#–after all, the flagwaving of the last several years tends to wear one out, doesn’t it?
Cynicism aside, I’m really looking forward to exploring the landscape and taking a lot of photos. I’ve been working really hard here in NYC for some time now, and haven’t focused on much other than going to auditions, sending out mailings, and writing, writing, writing. I hope to work on my newest screenplay a lot on the trip as well. For some reason, I write better when I’m not at home: even an afternoon session at Starbucks will invigorate my writing.
I did a few more days work on As the World Turns this week, and I just love it more and more#–I think I would really enjoy working on a Soap in a contract role, or on a television show. It’s fun to do your job amidst people you are familiar with, and the pace and rhythm of it really appeals to me. It would be the perfect way to complement a writing career (I can hear the full-time writers gasp with dread). When I was at the studio yesterday they were auditioning for a new contract role, but I didn’t really fit the bill#–the character is a former baseball player (I’m guessing Pro) and I’m not really that… well… beefy. Maybe if I hit the gym for a few months, but right now? No.
If they would just write a role for a computer addict who spends too much time on the internet… that guy would be a hit on daytime TV, right?

Cool deawl about going to Scotland. Dad’s family is from there, so I’m half from there. Hope you have lots of fun. which I’m sure you will, and you better take some pictures! I wish I could get out of Nixa for a while. I’ve been getting sick lately, and I don’t know, nothing changes here. Well, talk to you later, and love you bunches!

To Edinburgh! Fantastic place. A month late for the festival, unfortunately, but still a great place to visit.
