Bring the Support!

Alright everyone, this weekend marks the final three shows for “Angry Young Women…”, the play I’ve been doing for some time now. If you haven’t seen it, what are you waiting for?

We’re expecting industry this weekend, and it would be great to have some support in the audience… so COME SEE THE SHOW ALREADY!

But please, leave the kids at home.

In other news, my web host fixed the problem I’ve been having, so expect regular posting again.

SA-WEET!

This is maybe the fifth time I’ve recovered my blog database tonight. I’m going to bed.

I hate you NameSecure!

Broken!

Sorry about not posting lately… my site has some kind of mySQL error that I can’t figure out… I’ve updated a lot of things on the backend, but it’s still not right… I’ve contacted my web host, and I’m waiting to hear back… grr…

Please comment! It works now! I promise!

So, apparently comments haven’t been working on the blog since sometime in April. Which is awesome, as I’m sure I’ve lost some readers now. AWESOME.

I wondered why I suddenly had zero people leaving happy little messages from time to time. I figured those folks who were reading just didn’t see anything worth talking about.

It wasn’t until Trevor emailed me today that I even knew there was a problem.

Whoops! Sorry about that!

So if you tried to leave a comment recently, and couldn’t, I’m sorry… I broke the Internet, but I fixed it now, I promise. Leave a note if you have a second, as I would like to know if this is working now for everyone else…

And check out my Flickr! page. I got a new camera and have been playing around a lot lately. I LOVE photography, but with the cost of film, I haven’t been taking as many photos as I used to take. So, I switched to digital. And WOW am I glad I did. Here’s an example of what I’ve been up to…

I’m also posting my blog there too… just to be a dork (and duplicate the work).

Goodbye Ads

After some soul searching, I decided to try some targeted ads on my blog#–I mean, why not? Revenue from blogging? Sounds good to me!

But tonight I checked out my blog and found something dispicable: a targeted ad sending people to a website promising to find acting work for a "small fee". And that is just awful. The website in question is preying on the dreams of artists, and it can not be, in any way, legitimate.

So I took off all the ads. No. More. Ads. If I can’t control it, it’s not going on my site.

So blogging will continue to be something that I pay to do, and my site will not compromise on my integrity… at least not without my doing it inadvertently through my own content. :p

Goodbye Article Site…

I’ve moved all of the posts on "Opportunities in Work Clothes" to this blog, and created a new category (Articles). I’ve decided to combine that effort with this blog#–in keeping with my goals to a) simplify my fractured life, b) improve the content on my blog, and c) reduce the number of web presences I currently control.

I also cancelled some magazine subscriptions.

See, I find that I fill my time with unnecessary tasks#–things I may not even actually enjoy#–and tell myself that the reason I am not [writing/practicing/drawing/creating] is that I have too much to do. In reality, I don’t. I don’t know why I do this (I’m sure it’s some latent fear of something or another ) but I’m hell-bent on ridding myself of the habit. I’ve kept all of the activities that I truly enjoy, and the paraphernalia related to each, but I’m making an honest effort to reduce the clutter#–all of the clutter#–that’s holding me back (from security, contentment, and success).
