I love commercials. I truly do. I hate to admit it, but I actually only ever watch the Super Bowl for the ads. Well, maybe not entirely, but still… many actors denigrate commercials, and either refuse to even pursue them, or look down on other actors who participate in them. Well, stand back…

One of the best ad campaigns in recent memory is the Geico commercials "So Easy a Caveman Could Do It"#–and apparently I’m not the only person who thinks so. It looks as though ABC is developing a sitcom based on those characters from the commercials!

I don’t know why, but every year, right around this time, I start to feel… down. This is totally uncalled for, as things are actually pretty great for me right now. I just finished a second under five for As the World Turns in the last two weeks, I’m on hold for an Oxygen Network promo, and I’ve been spending more time with friends than ever before#–plus, my "day-job" stuff is on a good track too. When I try to think it through, I have nothing to complain about, and yet I feel blah. Weird stuff.

They say money can’t buy happiness, and I guess neither can success#–it’s all a state of mind, as City Wendy just recently pointed out in more eloquent language than I can muster. Maybe more Starbucks would help… I haven’t been in a week or two… maybe that’s it.

So, apparently comments haven’t been working on the blog since sometime in April. Which is awesome, as I’m sure I’ve lost some readers now. AWESOME.

I wondered why I suddenly had zero people leaving happy little messages from time to time. I figured those folks who were reading just didn’t see anything worth talking about.

It wasn’t until Trevor emailed me today that I even knew there was a problem.

And check out my Flickr! page. I got a new camera and have been playing around a lot lately. I LOVE photography, but with the cost of film, I haven’t been taking as many photos as I used to take. So, I switched to digital. And WOW am I glad I did. Here’s an example of what I’ve been up to…

I shot another scene for As the World Turns that airs on May 9th (check your local listings for the time). I seem to see a pattern here for ATWT in which I play a bellhop who brings room service for “special occassions”.

Be sure to watch the show and then flood CBS with adoring fan mail, screaming for more storylines involving that dashing young bellhop…

When things happen, they happen fast… my St. Louis agency (Talent Plus) called me on Friday with a pilot audition in Chicago… so here I am, two days later in Chicago, preparing for the audition. It’s a crazy, crazy life. Luckily, I have friends here who can put up with me for a few days while I go through the process. I don’t want to give too many details right now, but it’s a fun project, and hopefully I can go in and have a fun audition.
